I remember being mesmerized by a Tina Turner performance late one night on Chicago’s WTTW, perhaps Soundstage?
Not long after, during a high school German class field trip to Chicago, I bought David Bowie’s “Tonight” album at a Water Tower Place music store.
As a first-year student at the University of Chicago, the high school German class visited me on campus and I remember gathering around Botany Pond.
With Tina Turner and Bob Zimmer passing, just reflecting tonight on a happy connection of memories surfaced by present events.

“I will see you in the sky tonight…”
Sad to hear of the passing of Tina Turner, the legendary singer whose career dated back to 1960 with the release of her first recording: A Fool in Love as Ike and Tina Turner.
